If you're looking for a beginner's digital camera that costs less than $200, the Kodak CX4300 should be your choice. At 3.2 megapixels, the quality of the photos is incredible. I print out 8x10 photos on my Canon photo printer and they look like they came from a photolab. Downloading pictures to your computer is fast and easy, so you don't need to buy the Kodak Dock. After installing the software, simply plug your camera up to an included USB connector and turn your camera on. The software automatically begins to run, and you simply choose "transfer."

The only downsides to the camera are the lack of features, the low-quality batteries, and the lack of internal memory. With regard to features, this is a low-cost, "point and shoot" camera with almost no frills, but that also makes it very easy to use. The batteries that Kodak includes are terrible. I bought some high quality AA rechargeable batteries, and they work great. You'll need to buy an SD memory card because the 16MB internal memory only holds about 12 pictures. I bought an SD card with 128MB (cost of $50) and it stores about 96 pictures. I will probably upgrade to a Canon G3 next year, but the CX4300 is perfect for me and my family right now.

I couldn't agree more! I own the CX4300 - I'm a student and it's both simple and reliable to use. The memory upgrade is essential though if you plan to use it seriously.
