General Comments

The Catsby is basic but clean. The food was surprisingly reasonable, not everything comes with chips, one evening they were offering foie gras as a starter! Unfortunately, the place is way too overheated so its impossible to sleep with the window closed, which means you have to endure drunken Brits hollering their way home after the local bars have closed. Althought he hotel staff keep the Catsby reasonably quiet and threaten to evict anyone who is noisy after a certain time in the evening I would recommend either you bring ear-plugs or stay further up the hill at the Camelot if noise bothers you. It is very close to the slopes tho, so the walk home at the end of a hard days ski isn't too arduous. Pas is great for beginner and intermediate skiers and it is possible to avoid all the lerry Brits abroad. I can strongly recommend the Morrocan restaurant next to the Milwakee (don't go in the Milwakee if you can avoid it, a real meat market). The Marselles is passable too, especially the restaurant upstairs, just don't ask for a double gin, they don't leave any room for the tonic! If you decide to buy ski boots there (and why wouldn't you, with them being tax free), try Sport Nepal or Wapiti, not the Olympia. Ski school is excellent, try and get Elaine if you can, mad and middle-aged French lady, but totally adorable and very patient.
