General Comments
bought an early stealth brand new in 1998. bottle was leaking sent it back to factory took 2 weeks to fix it. at 2700psi power was only 10ft/lb with a choice of pellets. tinkered on managed 2 get 24 ft/lb with barracudas.still not accurate,in desperation took 22" barrel from an old weirauch hw35e got it machined at a cost of £85 to fit stealth.power now 23 ft/lb with only 1600psi making a ten litre bottle last about 40 fills. with 2700psi power is 50ft/lb .still plenty more power available but in uk with firearms licience restrictions i find that 12ft/lb is enough and makes field craft important.the new barrel is very accurate giving me a bit more confidence against my favourate quarry the WOODPIGEON. i never got bi-pod as i never get the chance to take a leisurley shot.buy 1 if u require a take down gun but dont expect proper pre-charged performance or ACCURACY from the box. enjoy.

on 6th Jan 2004How many more kids are there out there who think that the UK legal limit on Air Guns does not apply to them. Illegal possesion of a section 1 firearm carries a heavy jail term. If you know anyone who converts or provides others with information or facilities on the illegal manufacture of Section 1 firearms, please inform your local Police station.

on 6th Jan 2004I dont agree with the FAC regulations.
In safe hands a 50ft/lbs rifle is good, I dont own a FAC certificate, and I know I cant get 1 cos I dont own any land to shoot on, but I do posess several FAC rated guns and i'm responsible with them, 12ft/lbs is just not enough for hunting, alot of the time animals suffer because of lack of power to kill them.
I go shooting on farmland where the farmer has given me permission to shoot, but I think people should be allowed to shoot in the countryside at their own discretion.
If this poses problems I think FAC certificates should be scrapped, instead ballistics tests established on firearms to gain a unique fingerprint of each rifle, therefore if an offence is comitted police know exactly who the gun belongs to.
so basically I think all guns should be registered, but not restricted, and I show my middle finger to anyone who says I cant keep my FAC air rifles.Steve G
on 8th Jan 2004If you cant kill a Bunny out-right, you are clearly shooting outside of your rifles lethal range. Learn field craft, get within range and obtain an F.A.C. or surrender your illegal firearms. The law is the law, just because you dont agree with it, is no excuse to own Section 1 firearms without a licence.

on 6th Feb 2004Man I would stand up to those brain dead uk officials who have messed you guys out of your gun rights. I think dumb an dumber is running the country over there, the crime rate has gone through the roof, take a look at texas or arizona were everyone tots a gun !!!why dont they let joe average protect himself, all the the gun laws do is give the criminal with the gun the upper hand!! And not to mention pellet guns give me a break!!! Next thing you know those fools will outlaw knives!! And you all will have to eat with plastic!!

on 6th Feb 2004Why not go the 'Whole Hog' and end speeding laws, parking restrictions, income tax why not even do away with the police force. Laws are there to control not restrict. Some people need laws, the U.S.A. has the lowest level of Gun Control, yet the higest rate of gun-crime. Most people like laws, it puts us all on an even keel. Those who choose to live outside of the laws, should be the ones to pay not the law abiding members of society.

on 3rd Sep 2004I don't think that the final aim of this website is to discuss over the law! I live in Belgium where there is no speed or power limit: here we can possess any airgun we want as powerful as it is! Anyway, 12 fps of muzzle energy if you use the light .177 caliber is an impressive power even to hunt at long range. With a Weirauch of 11 fps (yes you read it right) one of my friend shoot magpies at 70 YARDS. And they fall like rocks!
Conclusion: the accuracy of an airgun is much more important than a huge amount of power. I'm surprised that a lot of reviewers consider that a good rifle is a powerful one: that is definitely wrong.Fastfood
on 6th Sep 2004Another Gunner confused by power and the Law, Power allows a shot to be humane and not inflict unnecessary suffering, The Law sets a limit which we can use without a licence. And a web sight dedicated to Airguns, is a very good place to debate power and legal limits, some people need to be told the facts, what better place is there?

on 10th Jun 2005Lets be blunt.... In the U.K. the powers that be act instantly on any rubbish the media choses to focus on. This, alas, has been firearms recently, (they can't catch the burglars but can ban anything.) and has caused decent air rifle shooters a lot of trouble. The law won't go away however. Stupid though it may be at times. The way things are today it will only take one poor soul to shoot a magpie, which flutters into some crusading M.P.'s garden before dying, to cause an "outrage" in parliament and lead to a ban on all gun shaped things.... All of them... Water pistols, pointed sticks..... It's comming! Don't get caught with a 30flbs rifle and no FAC or you're possibly "a terrorist", and air-rifles will be banned. Don't go shooting within sight of a town at night with lamps or you are an "anti-social" lowlife and air guns must be banned! Try to look smart and presentable when you shoot or air guns are the weapon of choice of vagrants and the poor and, obviously, must be banned...
You get the point. The law is useless, but the idiots in charge are looking for a reason to ban our sport.... Please don't give them one! Seems an airgun pellet tax is likely though....
Respect to fellow shooters and long may we enjoy our sport. Deep breath. Rant over.
