To be honest after coming home from Amsterdam and arriving at Manchester Terminal 1 I was ashamed to be British. The staff were surly, obviously didn't want to be there on a Sunday and to be honest it was a smugglers paradise. I was very cautious about what I brought back thinking that security would be tight, no chance of that I could have brought the entire contents of an Amsterdam coffee shop back and noone would have checked. The airport was dirty, toilets were a total disgrace, when you could find one that wasn't blocked up with toilet paper. I just felt so depressed to be back in such a miserable place.
