Good Points

Good overall quality, looks like the Chinese got it right on this one

Bad Points

Chinese QC still in question, comb too high

General Comments

I've had the B-26-2 Thumbhole stock in .22 now long enough for a review. The B-26 is an upgraded version to the popular B-20, a Beeman R9 clone. The B-26 is a break barrel, single shot, spring piston airgun. The B-26 sports fiber optic sights while the B-26-2 comes with no sights but adds a muzzle brake and thumbhole stock.

Initial observations to the gun was that the blueing and quality of wood was much better than I expected; in fact, it was the best of any Chinese gun I have seen to date. There have been reports that the insides of the gun had the typical heavy grease that Chinese guns have in them. I have not taken mine apart to verify, but after about 100 rounds, it has all but stopped deisleing now.

The B-26 fires 14.3gr Premiers at around 640fps with surprisingly little spring twang and noise.

The copy of the Rekord trigger is much better than on the B-20, as is the out of the box quality. Mine was pretty much flawless out of the box. The gun cocks without any grinding of parts and the trigger is fairly smooth, especially given its price.

I tested a variety of pellets through mine and most gave 3/4 to 1 inch groups (5 shot) at 30 yards. RWS hollow points gave 1/2 inch groups as did JSB Exacts.

Be sure to get very high mounts as the comb of the thumbhole stock is very high. I have a BLK 253 with riser and its only marginally high enough. B-Square ultra high mounts may have been a better choice. The B-26 has recoil stop pin holes along the reciever so be sure to choose a mount that can take advantage of them, or get a recoil stop that will.

I still question the QC of Chinese guns but the latest offering seems to give the impression that they have really stepped up their QC and have put out a good product. For the $160 price range of this gun, you really cannot go wrong with it. For the money, highly recommended.
