Excellent example of the genre
Plenty of Easter Eggs - even someone not interested in the game type can have fun spotting these
Incomplete and buggy in places
Children have been removed from the UK version, making it impossible to properly complete some quests
Graphics looking dated now (unsurprisingly)
All three Fallout (FO, FO2, Tactics) PC games are turn-based RPG's. Additionally, Fallout: Tactics offers a pseudo-realtime option called "continuous turn-based", in which characters regenerate their action points at a preset rate.
Unlike many "role-playing" games, your choices genuinely do affect your reputation, and how people react to you.
With a post-nuclear war setting, and plenty of jokes and Easter eggs in all three games, this makes an excellent purchase, even if you are not a hardcore fan of RPG's.
