Oliver Elkington's Review of Nokia 3410

The Nokia 3410 is an extremely important mobile phone from a historical perspective, as it is the first Java phone; meaning that is is capable of downloading games and other applications.

I bought mine early in 2004 as a collectors item. My theory is that one day it will be very valuable to collectors as the first Java phone. I have found it to be an extremely well-made and polished phone. Everything about it is just so well done... The phone is well constructed. The icons in the menu are very well drawn and animated. The games are of a very high standard for a phone from 2002 (in particular I must mention Munkiki's Castles, which is a brilliant 3D puzzle game coded in Java), and the screensavers (which are also in 3D) are superb.

The 3410 was the best phone on the market when it first appeared in March of 2002. The phone is now four years old and looks every bit of it. If you want to buy the 3410 as an interesting piece of cellphone history then it comes highly recommended, otherwise I would advise you to look elsewhere. (On the other hand, if you're just looking for a basic phone, then the 3410 is still a good phone.)
