A gripping, sleep-robbing page-turner
Some of the sex and violence is extremely graphic (not for the squeamish).
Past Mortem by Ben Elton is a crime novel of the very highest order. OK, in some ways it's been done before, but the characters are strong, the plot, while slightly ludicrous in reflection, has you gripped when in the middle of it, and the sub-plots are all well done.
Black comedy at its best in the ending!
