General Comments

With 2001's "Discovery" Daft Punk exceeded expectations set from their classic debut album "Homework". Through "Discovery" we are taken through a sweeping musical journey of occasional operatic proportions through the realms of post punk, 70's-80's disco, electronica and 90's house.

We begin with "One More Time" surely a homage to the sample hooks of the 80's and the energetic disco-pop of the 70's. We are soothed slowly into "Digital Love" then enraptured by its melodic guitar solo's before being thrust full force into the realms of hard house through "Crescendolls". We stop for a short while to take in the passionate ambiance of the superbly crafted "Nightvision" and "Something About Us" and end with a very vocal performance from Romanthy (the album's main vocal performer) on both "Face to Face" and "Too Long". With all that said and done I think I'll go and listen to one of the best assets to my music collection.
