Good Points

Camera good, except it always opens itself.
Message menu is good, but would be better if the joystick actually worked more than 70% of the time.

Bad Points

You can't hear the thing ring, no matter what you do to turn the volume up. This makes it completely useless in performing its most basic function of being a phone.

General Comments

If all you want from your phone is a cheap digital camera and a cheap electronic diary, then the Sony Ericsson V600i is the phone for you. But if you want a phone that actually performs both of the old-fashioned functions we used to expect from a phone (making and receiving calls), then steer clear of this heap of rubbish.

No matter what you do to the volume settings or the equaliser, or anything, you will not hear this phone ring unless you happen to be holding it within 30cm of your ear in a completely silent room.

Even the functions that I thought were great (text menu is more like a little PC) are frustrating after a very short time, as the whole system seems to be getting very, very slow after only a few months. The joystick sometimes doesn't work at all, which really sucks no matter what you're doing.

hey can anybody tell me if the v600i has got a loudspeaker to listen to the mp3s and how many can you fit it on the phone thanks.

I've only managed to save two mp3 songs on my Sony Ericsson V600i. I don't know whether it won't accept more due to a memory limit or a fault of the phone. I don't know whether the speaker can be turned on to use just to play songs. I use it when I make & receive calls (bad point - it takes three key strokes to turn the speaker on when you receive a call), but haven't tried just listening to music. yarkii
