Loewe Vitros TV - The picture is probably faultless, excellent definition and colour. Set looks super.
Loewe DVD - Simple to operate.
Bad Points
Loewe Vitros TV - Incorporating surround sound module and transmitter for wireless rear speakers. The sound system failed after about 12 months and was repaired under warranty by a Loewe engineer. Subsequently, it failed two more times; each occasion required a replacement of the electronic card, and after some haggling, the cost was free to me. The sound system is now failing again (three months after last repair), and I am expecting big hassle as to who should pay this time! Additionally, I do not recommend the wireless rear speakers, since they are very subject to interference (typically when one moves across the signal, even movement of an arm whilst sitting watching the set) despite following the various channel options suggested.
Loewe DVD - This failed (processor malfunction) after three years (DVD had had very little usage, perhaps about fifty operations only) and repair was not economically viable. Replaced with Panasonic DVD recorder.
General Comments
My dealer has bent over backwards to help me and footed the bill when Loewe were being less than reasonable. Generally speaking my experience of Loewe equipment has been appalling. I am currently faced with a further repair to my sound system, which will be expensive with no expectation of a lasting solution. The failing sound system repair is always affected by replacement of the same card, but it seems little consideration is given as to why the same card fails each time. I am faced with dumping an expensive TV set, complete with its expensive stand because the sound system collapses - yet the picture quality is unbeatable? I would recommend that no one purchases Loewe equipment. Although their reputation seems to be high, I have found by experience that the equipment is unreliable and not worth the high price asked for it.

How Does Digital TV Work?
Vitros TV and Loewe DVD player
DVD player failed a couple of years after purchse at £500. Maybe fifty DVDs through it... total waste of money.
TV failing now after four years.
Both look good but what terrible value.
