Good Points

Superb roadholding, nippy engine, great driving position, reliable, cheap to buy and insure.


Bad Points

Road noise, very common.


General Comments

Wow. I bought my 3 door Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec in June 1999 and was amazed by the grip and roadholding. Engine really comes alive after 4000 rpm and I find that you can embarass more powerful cars round b-roads if you know how to drive it well. I would certainly recommend one to anybody out there but not driven the new shape so I cannot comment on these. I'd get another old shape one given half a chance.
