Since I've had the Barclaycard I've had nothing but trouble. They usually ask for the the monthly payment of £15 or more by a particular date. What they don't make clear (although they do write it in the smallest of small print somewhere on your monthly statement) is that you have to pay the money at the bank in a minimum of 3-5 days before the deadline for the money to clear. Hence, the actual deadline is actually 3-5 days earlier than stated.

Since I'm generally unorganized and leave things to the last minute, I often forget this and end up paying for it. They charge me £20 for a late payment and, as usually happens, the £20 they charge me takes me over my credit limit and they charge me another £20 for going over. So even though I paid the £15 two days earlier than they said it was due, it ended up costing me £40. And it's happened on a few occasions. It's my own fault for forgetting about it most months, but they are more than willing to take advantage of it, so be careful.
