Good Points

Good hotel for price, rooms seemed clean enough - A lot within the hotel complex. from Chinese, pizza to hair dressers etc. - Many cafes n bars around the centre, not too far from the beach


Bad Points

Bad points..... The fact it was next to a hospital caused problems for myself and friend. You would need to close your Balcony slide door in the night to avoid so much noise, but you could still hear it and often woke us up.. Due to being so close to the hospital, You would have ambulance's leaving and going to the hospital. With sirens on each time. This is every hour I'd say and more in the night.
The hotel's food complex's were the worst I've ever eaten. We went self catering, but you can buy the half board for 12 euro a day etc. - But we did it for ONE day luckily and it was hideous. - Breakfast was like rubber. even the plane's food was presented and tasted better.


General Comments

Overall, the Columbus hotel was a plus. - I enjoyed the stay, the night entertainment was traditonal Spanish, light music etc at night. Many germans in the hotel. - Along with a lot of British too.
The reception werent the politest of people but seeing what they deal with, I understand why.
However, be aware you will pay for everything you have, 7 euro's for one wash in the washing machines.....!!!!
Deposits for playing games etc etc...
The bar would hint for a tip everytime... by giving your change on a saucer everytime!
We heard of a woman who had cockroachs in the hotel room... not to put anyone off though as we did not have any or see any.
But it wasnt a great experience after that I suppose.
It's near bars and clubs and near loads of cafes. I'd recommend "The Royal" which is just down the road, great fun, comedy etc and food is fantastic as all British products!!
Have a look for yourself... you may like this place but personally I wouldn't ever go back...

One other thing...
Never ever book an excursion with Thomsons reps they will rip you off.
Travel to Los Christianos a short walk and you'll find a shop with a British agent who can arrange anything you want.
We saved 300 Euro's on what we wanted to do on holidays and you have such more variation.
