Looks good
Brilliant folding roof
Comfy
Fairly slow with automatic gearbox
The odd reliability issue (wheelarch liner falling off, and there are many squeaks and creaks - read on)
The car was bought in June 2004, and is a Megane CC Dynamique (not Extreme) 1.6 VVT 115 with the (£900) 4-speed automatic. It is rather slow with this 'box, however.
On the good side, it looks great, especially roof down, which takes only 22 seconds and you only have to press one switch! Always draws a crowd.
The car is very comfy and fairly economical, however the backseat is unsuitable apart from short journeys. Think of it as extra bootspace, as it shrinks by about half when you drop the roof.
However, after a year-and-a-half, we have to report that the wheelarch liner fell off (minor, but caused a bit of inconvenience), and also the car is squeaking from the wheels, and the bootlid. As well as this, there is a slow drip of rain on the passenger side, where the roof meets the top of the windscreen. It only hits your leg, but gets annoying!
A visit to the dealer to cure the leak is imminent.
Don't let that put you off, though. The Megane CC is a lovely car, looks really nice, drives quite nicely, and always attracts nice comments from people.
