Skeg Vegas, as it is called, is fabulous, as you long as you go with no preconceived ideas you are in for a great time. I have been many times with family, and also on adult only weekends. It is a working class holiday with no frills attached. The staff do the best they can and are very enthusiastic. The camp is clean inside and out. The fair is minimal but FREE. The town itself isn't too far away, and it is a lovely seaside resort for shopping and bingo. The nightlife is great, but you have to get out early or you may struggle to get a decent seat, and I usually end up sitting behind a pillar with half a view of the stage. When the entertainment has finished, kids allowing, you can nip over to Jumpin Jaks for a boogie and an overpriced bottle of beer, but the fun part is sneaking your own in!
Everything shuts at 2am. The camp closes, and you are asked to go back to your chalets. Not much entertainment going on during the day. If you have kids they will probably get bored.
I love Butlins in Skegness! I go every year. It is full of the cream of Britain. The language in the air is a little blue, as are the black tights and white stiletto's, but if you want a reasonably priced holiday, a good laugh, and time with your family, then you can't beat it!
