Solid
Same weight as a PPC or IPSC pistol
Single and double actions
Good accuracy
Decent trigger for the price
Nice Co2
Loose plate on the CO2 loading side of the grip
Hammer spring is not realistic in SA mode
8 shots only
Grip is for large hands.
I have a 9mm Beretta and I wanted to get used with the timing before going in PPC shooting. Neither my single-shot FWB C20 or Crosman 2240 could help me so after reading the reviews on this site, I ordered a C40.
It is a deal at that price. Instead of a the regular plastic clone, I got the tool I needed for the practice I had in mind.
I saw a P99 at my club and believe me, it doesn't even come close to the C40.
The loose grip is a pain in the butt . I think I'm going to carry stripes of electrical tape with the pistol that comes with a nice liitle case btw.
The accuracy is not as good a a 2240 but it is much better than I exprected from a semi-auto.
One thing to notice: compared to the single-shot 2240, you get more shots from a CO2 cartridge on the C40 but it takes about 10% of the time to do it ! Even in SA mode, the 8 shot rings pass like Miller Lites in a chug-a-lug contest ...
Minor bug : the effort to bring back the hammer in SA mode is not realistic. Someday, I'll try to replace the spring with a stronger one.
The loading of the Co2 cartridges is much better than the 2240 where you have to force everytime . On the C40, you adjust the screw which is under the grip once and for all. After that, everytime you push the cover/lever in, it does the job. Better than my $1000 FWB that comes with a wrench to screw in the cartridge (different purpose and different cartridges, I know).
Is it a surprise if I tell you I recommend it ?
