Bad Points

Charges for services you don't use
Making a deposit is inconvenient
It has become very difficult to open an account


General Comments

I am a long term Everbank customer. My first account was a CD, opened several years ago and closed after about a year with no problems. After that I opened a Freenet checking account, and recently, because my balance dropped, they began to charge a monthly fee for Bill Pay service, even though I have not ever paid a single bill from this account. At around the same time I attempted to open some additional CD's and sent the corresponding funds via registered mail. The post office tracking shows the funds were received two weeks ago, but my CD's have not been opened. I called customer service and the representative said they had a 'backlog' of applications due to rising interest rates, and that it could take 7 business days to open the CD; it has been 10 business days and they appear to have no idea of where the funds are. In short, Everbank's service has gone way downhill.
