All 5 series are available cheaply on DVD.
The ongoing storylines especially in series 2 & 3, mean you will be watching it every night.
The effects and CGI in the early series are a bit ropey looking now. Series 5 struggles for new original ideas. Some episodes feel like they are flag waving in an American sort of way.
Babylon Five is the continuing saga of a space station trying to save the galaxy. In comparison with Star Trek, the ships, weapons and Aliens are all far more convincing. The Characters are realistically and convincingly developed and several different storylines continue across all 5 series. The shadow war plot is particularly gripping. A must for any Sci-Fi fan.
