Good Points

Great Sony product. Features 20Gb memory, 30 hour battery life (mine got to 31 at least once), and it is built like a tank. I've dropped this thing dozens of times and it still performs great. Plus it doesn't scratch easily like most, if not all iPod's. The Sonicstage software is an excellent program for transferring CD's to your Walkman. There's a lot of negative insight into Sonicstage, but simply downloading the newest version from Sony's website fixes a lot of problems; I've had the program for over 2 months now and it works smoothly. Plus the NW-HD3 now features MP3 playback along with Atrac3, Atrac3plus, and storing files and such; unlike it's predecessor the NW-HD1. Easy simple controls to navigate to where ever. Clever switch to turn the battery on and off so you don't have to waste juice.


Bad Points

No Video capabilities, and no color screen either. The connection piece that has the charger and USB hookup is EXTREMELY fragile; be extra careful when charging and hooking up the USB. Comes with uncomfortable headphones/earbuds.


General Comments

Overall, the Sony NW-HD3 MP3 player is a great product, especially for the value. It's perfect for those people who want to have music on their MP3 players. It especially suits musicians, being one myself, with a really tight budget and an absence for the desire of fancy color screens and video, it fit the bill perfectly. Just make sure you are careful with the connector and buy some more comfortable earbuds; it'll be worth it.
