General Comments

I wanted to move my account from Cater Allen to a Bank of Scotland Business Bank Account, because they didn't have any kind of online banking (telephone only). I already had a BOS account, which was set up fairly painlessly, so I imagined that this would be the easiest option.

I applied to open the account, provided my ID and met the bank manager. Then silence. About one and a half months has gone by. We have left several messages a week on her voicemail (only phone number given was a mobile).

After a couple of weeks I gave up and went to Abbey National. If I were a new startup without an existing business account I would have gone bust by now. I cannot believe that a bank would deliberately treat customer so badly before they even had a chance to open the account.
