Great variety of animals
Country Park Layout
Mini-lectures from experts& opportunities to pick up some of the animal residents
Although open in winter months, some of the monkeys & other mammals found it too cold to come out & see us!
Giraffe enclosure needs a revamp
Get rid of some of the concrete! Make entrance more inviting.
What a pleasant surprise Dudley Zoo and Castle was! Took a group of 6 young people (age 17) & 2 staff for an usual activity day. Car park wasn't signposted - neither was the entrance. All looked a bit bleak when we arrived but once we had paid (good student rates) there were some real treats. Wear comfy shoes and a few layers to enjoy the full extent of this jewel of the Black Country! Set against backdrop of castle, we were treated to an enormous variety of sights: penguins, reptile house, lemurs, giraffes, monkeys, aviaries (must visit the big pink parrot- hilarious!) Lots of walking if you want to see everything- Give yourself a good 2 - 3 hours- young children/ elderly might struggle with some of the hills! Excellent value for money!
