Stable, solid, nice construction. good price point.
Zoom past mid-range magnification not so good in low light. Lens caps as supplied poor fit. Either they dont stay on or you cant get them off.
The AGS is fitted to an Air Arms S410 carbine in .22 principally used for hunting rabbits. On low magnifications you could watch the image for hours but on higher magnifications the image becomes more of a strain to watch. I have found this scope really good in low light. It has a 30mm body which transmits about half as much light again as a standard 25mm. The mildots are superb with the .22s trajectory. When zeroed at 20m the POI is one dot down for 10m (pellet on the way up) and one dot down again at 30m (pellet dropping back down). I don't know if AGS deliberately worked that one out! After dark you can very successfully (and cheaply) fit a red-filtered maglite to the top of the scope and hunt on all night, the rabbits eyes acting like reflectors. I have even spotted mice in the field through the scope in this way. With light gathering this good, who needs night vision?
