Good Points

Excellent first car, I am 17 and found this car perfect. Very easy to modify, everythink is bolt on and off. Comfy, fast, stylish and tidy.

Bad Points

I did have some trouble with electrics but these were minor e.g. central locking played up due to water, ignition switch and earth strap. All cheap to repair.

General Comments

The Peugeot 206 is excellent first car and I would recommend it to others. However I was involved in a accident which caused my car to be written off. After phoning my insurance, I discovered that the 1.6xs version of the 206 is the same insurance group and same amount of insurance as the 1.4 I am in the process of purchasing a 1.6xs and will definitely keep you posted. But if you are 17 like me and have £1900+ for the insurance, then get yourself a 1.6xs. there are a lot more features (fog lights, AC, passanger air bag etc) and a lot more for your money. Buy a 1.6XS for the same price.

Back to the 1.4
My 1.4 was brilliant though the running cost i.e. fuel was quite bad. I spent around £20 which got me max 140 miles. I also found that the bonnet vents although they look stylish they do leave you with damp carpets and steamed windows in poor weather. Other than that brillaint car easy to modify, excellent drive, highly recommended.
