“On The Beach Holidays is a 3rd party site who book...”

Good Points
Well designed easy to use website.

Bad Points
The company are not actually contracted to sell all of the flights that they show on the site.

General Comments
On The Beach Holidays is a 3rd party site who book flights and hotels through other agents for you - in other words, they are an unneccessary intermediary. Once your booking is made, any further calls to the company are charged at an astronomical 50p per minute. They did however give me a full refund when my flights were changed from Newcastle to Manchester.

I quite agree - they are an unnecessary intermediary. They are certainly not professional. They advertise a price-match guarantee and whilst I had booked flights and hotel the wording in their guarantee did not say that the price-match was for a complete booking. I found the hotel nearly £50 cheaper and they would not honour their guarantee. After complaining about their wording, they changed it. Also a couple in our party (I booked 6 rooms!) originally wanted a fortnight. On asking to change to a week they were told that flights could not be changed. They contacted Thomas Cook who said they would be quite happy to change the flights and were disgruntled on hearing 'On the Beach's' answer as it would bring Thomas Cooks' name into disrepute! Your comment about the telephone is also another moneymaking scam - they don't even answer the phone and you have to listen to a recorded message @ 50p per minute. Had to resort to e-mail and you get 1 line answers. We had a discrepancy on a couple of totals - they couldn't explain it "that's how the computer worked it out". No way would I use this company again. I could have booked the same holiday for a cheaper price - OK it would have taken a bit of legwork on the internet but the satisfaction of not giving them their percentage would be worth it! Their paperwork is totally uninformative. All in all a very unprofessional company.

Response to Whitsun98: OTB initially just changed the holiday to departure from Manchester, no mention of refund. I had to check with the airline itself that a refund would be available THEN had to phone OTB with the information I had been given. I would expect any agency to do the legwork for me - and not to charge for phone calls that are made to them. My comments were quite fair I think in my case.

How can you rate the 2 of out 10 when they gave you a full refund. It probably wasn't their fault the flight changed. Be fair!!!
