General Comments

I got the Nokia N70 as an upgrade on my O2 account. I was waiting for the Nokia 6280, but saw the N70 and took an executive decision and went for that instead. Good choice I think!

The phone is easy to use with the usual Nokia simplicity, and you'll have no problems navigating around the menu/sub-menu's. The camera takes great photos, and it has a built in automatic flash, but the range when it goes off isn't massive, but in a good light you'll get a cracking photo which can be e-mailed from the phone if need be.

I have 2 niggles and one nightmare...

The battery life isn't the best, but in all fairness I do have my bluetooth on most of the time, which I believe saps the juice a tad, so I try to turn it off when not needed.

The charging jack plug thing is tiny! In Nokia's wisdom, they've decided to change the size of the charging sockets (I now know of 3 sizes they do). You'll get a mains charger with the phone, which has the tiny plug on the end, and then an adapter for using the normal/old style jack plug chargers. At least it saves you buying another car charger!

Now for the nightmare...

The voice activated dialling. What a pain! With some of the old Nokia's you could record your voice into the phone saying a name for it to recognise that name and dial. No need now!! Just press the voice activated dialling button, speak and it'll search the phone book for a matching name - neat eh? Err, no! Half the time it gets it wrong (maybe my voice tone is wrong)! The main concern is when you're connected up to a Nokia bluetooth headset and press by accident the dial button, it'll wait for a voice, search and dial the number - not good if you press the button by mistake and don't realise it's searched the phone book, picked a number and dialled it. Any old voice will do; you can be talking to yourself of it'll even pick the voice off the radio thinking it's a command!! It is funny I suppose, but it is a pain! I've called Nokia, and to my dismay it can't be turned off!!

There you go. Apart from that it's a great phone. I've now got a 1GB memory card for it, so I've started to put some music on there as well as having tons of space for photo's - spot on! Buy it, you won't be disappointed!
