Good Points

Solid build quality, roomy interior, unburstable engine, great gearbox.

Bad Points

Interior trim rattles. These are very minor but more noticable due to the overall quietness of the car. rear tyres disappear quite quickly.
These cars have a common rust problem on the front wings and the boot lock. Once its sorted things should be fine.

General Comments

This is one of the last Mercedes diesels you can buy that I call 'Old Technology'. A straightforward Turbodiesel, no commonrail or computer controlled injection etc and as such its mechanically simple and therefore reliable. I know of one that has covered 500,000 miles as a taxi without any major work. One review sums it up by saying the engine is only suitable for commercial applications, this is a massive compliment if you want an engine to last your lifetime.
