Good Points

Great beach, fantastic staff, brilliant food, the best 10 days ever spent!! We will go back as soon as we can afford it!

Bad Points

We had to come home!!
Don't hire a car.

General Comments

WOW! We arrived at the Merville Beach by taxi into the open plan reception area where we were greeted by drinks whilst we booked in. Our room was the superior room which was well worth the little extra cash. We took the all inclusive honeymoon package and would well recommend going fully inclusive simply because it was great eating and drinking as much as we wanted, when ever we wanted and having a bill for 0.00 rupees!
The staff were second to none and most had learnt our names within 24 hours which made the whole experience very personal and comfortable. The staff did everything they could to help and assist us when ever we needed it yet without being pushy or intrusive.
My wife is a VERY fussy eater and if there was nothing on offer that she would eat, the kitchen would prepare anything she wanted however she wanted it with no hassle. The head waiter took it upon himself to look after us throughout the stay and to make sure that we were catered for.
The evening entertainment was also varied and always fantastic. After dinner we would move away from our table to the bar and spend the rest of the evening drinking for free and listening to the music. Fantastic!!
The beach was lovely with all of the activities, boats, etc on the one beach and relaxation and swimming on the other.
The people are very kind and the hospitality is great. The local shops are only a short walk away for those family presents and souvenirs. The sea is a lovely turquoise blue and the sand white.

The car hire was the only mistake - £120 (Paid in England) hired us a tin can for 3 days, the road have few signs and the drivers are crazy. For just a couple of pounds, around 150 rupees, we could have a taxi for the day being driven around, via any route we wanted, to any destination on the island, when we go back, this is what we will do. If you do want to drive yourself, hire the car once you are there. There are always cars around and you will pay a fraction of what it cost us.

Overall, the best holiday we have ever had and ever will have until we go back!!!
