General Comments
I've had both the iPod Photo U2 version, the iPod Mini, and I now have the iPod Nano and the iPod Video, and there are a few things that always come up.
When iPod's are first released there are always problems with them e.g. I've had 2 iPod Mini's due to the battery, and I am due to pick up another one next week, and then I will flog it on eBay, because the one I have now - the battery isn't holding. Both my Nano and my Photo have been fine, but then we come to the iPod Video! As I expected, I've have a few problems, and I'm now on my third iPod Video. It's because the first time it froze up on me, then the second time the back came off, which led me to my third, and I have a feeling the battery isn't holding on that. Even though I haven't had any problems with my iPod Nano; because I work in Currys, and my department is MP3/MP4, I get to see what is coming back and things like that.
The funniest iPod Nano I have ever seen, was a guy who sat down with his iPod Nano in his back pocket, then when he took it out it was bent, and it was more than I thought when he showed me. Due to the thinness of the Nano, the screen is quite vulnerable, so get a case if your going to get one. With the Video, get a screen protector and just use the pouch that is provided.
Overall, iPod's are pretty good quality, and the sound quality is a lot better than Philips. On the video the quality is amazing, as well as the size of the screen, and the videos play at full screen, which I didn't really expect at first. Just be careful which iPod one you choose.
