Double book and sell seats you have paid for! Cramped and uncomfortable seating.


General Comments

Booked ski holiday in March 2005 to Breckenridge, USA.
Booked and paid £150 each extra for Thomson Fly Premium seats on flight both ways- extra leg room as I am 6'2".
Some hassle at departure check-in at Gatwick, but we got our seats only after producing receipts as proof of purchase!
The return journey was a joke, on trying to check-in at Denver we were told all the Premium seats had been booked. Much debate and arguments, proof of purchase etc made no difference. Seats we had paid extra for (along with at least 10 others, we quickly found out) had already been re-sold! We were offered nothing in return, and even had to pay $60 each for bulkhead/exit seats just to get some comfort on the 10 hr night flight home! Once on the flight, there was further commotion due to bulkhead seats being double booked, and again sold twice!
We contacted Crystal (tour company) immediately on return with all paperwork (including written statement from the Crystal manger in Denver), but have had nothing in reply apart from the usual, 'we have received your complaint, blah, blah..'
As with many budget airlines, unless you are under 5' tall or going very short haul, don't bother. Forget paying for upgrades either, as the money you have paid will more than likely be as good as 'stolen' from you by Thomson Fly on at least one leg of your flight.
