Good Points

My husband and I have just got back from the most wonderful holiday at Kurumba in the Maldives. Everything was fantastic better than I could have imagined on the website. I would say the resort is quite big, however you were never crowded with people. In fact when we walked out of our room (we had a Beach room) there was often nobody around...it was so peaceful and relaxing. There were lots of restaurants to choose from which was fantastic and all the food we had was of a high standard. The spa was a dream come true - tranquil and with an amazing array of treatments. Best of all was the service, everyone was helpful and seemed to genuinley care how we were enjoying ourselves. There were some families around but there was a kids club so we weren't bothered which was great.

Bad Points

You have to make sure you book your spa appointments when you arrive else you can be dissapointed with not being able to book a treatment. The only other thing is that it was a shame that the lovely pool area wasn't something like an infinity pool with a great view of ocean. One final point to be aware off is that you can see the capital from the island - I quite like this but if you really really want the 'desert island' experience then perhaps you should think of somewhere else.

General Comments

I've been to the Maldives a few times before and the one thing that can happen is that you can be a little bored by the end of the week. This was simply not the case at Kurumba. You can chose from doing nothing or being active which is fantastic. The massive choice of restaurants means that you are not limited at dinner so from japanese to Italian, or dining on the beach eating freshly cooked seafood, the choice is great. For my husband deep sea fishing was a must, while I spent hours at the spa (so both of us where happy). I'd thoroughly recommend this resort to anyone.
