General Comments
I obtained a pair of M73 speakers as result of an insurance claim, they replaced a pair of Mordaunt Short MS25i. At the time I was disappointed in receiving what I viewed as a budget speaker.
My source equipment is a Marantz PM66 Ki-Sig Amp and Marantz CD63-MkII Ki-Sig. I wired the speakers with some relatively cheap QED cable (not bi-wired).
The sound appeared to be quite "light" at first, it took a good 10 hrs+ for the speakers to be broken in. Once the speakers had been in use for some time, I stared to warm to a pleasantly smooth bass. My sources are very detailed, especially with vocals, the speakers also conveyed this as effortlessly as the speakers they replaced.
Loudspeaker sound is a very much a matter of personal taste, and their 'compatibility' with different sources is largely dependant on the resultant sound you are after. These speakers have added an extra dimension to my setup that I was largely missing before, a smooth bass, for this I'm one happy man :)
