General Comments

I was given the RoadCom RC300 for Christmas. Bought from Woolies reduced from £249 to £200, it offered many features from more expensive models. I got up and running with it straightaway from the box - very easy to figure out how to navigate your first route.

It has function for whether in a fast car or slow car (which is great as I have a 4x4 I would like to map green lanes in). Also day / night mode, and usual route options for motorways / tolls, etc...

One thing I have not yet found out how to do is avoid traffic jams - it is supposed to be supported.

Also worked in an R reg and a 02 plate Mondeo with heated windscreens without trouble. The aerial offers very good reception.

I have found out that if you set-off before the satellite is located (very quick usually) and / or when the route is being calculated, it can come up with some interesting directions! It takes 5-30 seconds to find a satellite, and maybe 10-15 secs to work out a route - so no great hardship.

Overall I have to say I am very impressed with this device, and would recommend it over some of the other more established players without concern.
