  • Time MP3 Player Owned
    6 - 12 Months
  • Battery Life
    4 stars
  • Memory
    Uses Flash Memory Cards
Good Points

Uses AAA Battery (No internal battery woes when it runs out of juice you just put a fresh rechargeable in)
No software or drivers needed, plug it into any pc and go
Add up to 2GB of flash memory on an SD card
Plays Audible Files
Cheap!

Bad Points

Every few months you may have to initialize it and reformat it when it gets a little buggy (Keeps turning off right away etc) Not really a big deal unless you don't know this is all you have to do.
FM tuner isn't so hot.

General Comments

The Rio Forge Sport, for me, is the only player that does everything I want -
1. Uses standard batteries
2. Doesn't need any software to load it up
3. No hard drive (flash based) Drop it all you want!
4. Removable memory (If you want you can load new flash cards in or swap one into my camera in a pinch)
5. Audible Compatible (I like listening to audio books)

Yes it doesn't hold every song, but other than that it's the only player that has a flash drive attached and one of the few that wont end up in the trash when the internal battery fails.
