Smooth powerful - the most comfortable car I've ever driven
Also the most expensive to maintain and the most unreliable
I am a Citroen fan. Or I was. My dream was to own a DS or CX...but I can't afford to keep throwing money at this 2,2 HDi SX that's only 4 years old and 82,000 miles. Problems with the radio reception on AM, a CD player that decides which CDs it would like to play and which it wouldn't, in a very Gallic way, constantly squeaking brakes, two broken doorhandles, a handbrake that doesn't hold it on hills, it's gone through more headlamp bulbs than any other car I've owned in 17 years. And to change them yourself is a painful and bloody experience. Who drives to a main dealer to get a headlamp bulb changed? (and it even took THEM 45 minutes!!) Did I mention the leaking hydraulics and the CV joint problems, or the fact that the aircon is only working 50% and blows hot air out one side no matter what the temp outside. I've got the particulate filter to replace right now as well as a suspension pipe, a CV joint, a broken taillight - my fault, a new heater activator for the climate control and something else that I can't remember cos I'm so angry. And why didn't they put a back wiper on it for heaven's sake - it's a hatchback. Whoever said you need a sense of humour to drive a Citroen wasn't joking. Give me Japanese reliability next time please...Vive l'Orient!!!
