Good Points

Very good image quality. Very good sheet feeder. Dependable and easy to set up.

Bad Points

There is no black ink cartrige, so printing many documents isn't a good idea for you will run out of color ink very fast. It does not shut itself off when it looses the signal from the computer, which is a nuisance. It's not very fast.

General Comments

I bought this Lexmark Z11 printer for a very low price at Wal-Mart. I have printed many pictures at 1440 DPI and they all look great. I set mine up in about 5 minutes and had no problems, I wouldn't expect many other people to have problems with their software or hardware setup. This is not a printer for printing up documents, I use mine only for color pictures and use a different printer for all black and white documents (I have a laser printer for documents). This unit is small and can operate in tight places unlike some. I have never had any problems with the sheet feeder. It has never jammed up. The ink never clots or sprays poorly. This is a great unit for color photos, etc. I would recommend this unit if you found a good deal on one.

black cartridges are available and can be swapped in for continuous black printing!

This printer does not print at 1440. Only 1200 or 600 DPI.

compact bargain printer with very expensive inks

The ink supplies for this printer are indeed overpriced. I have been using remanufactured and/or reloaded cartridges with no problems, no loss of sharpnes in B&W nor vibrant color.
