General Comments

I bought my Piaggio X9 250 EVO 2004 second hand in may 2005 with 6700 km on it. Soon I noticed it had no cooling water, I poured it in the water tank, but then I noticed it's leaking. I drove the scooter to dealer and I had to wait for 3 weaks to get new water pump (and my country is Italy's neighbour). Thankfully I still had warranty. But that was the only serious probelm I had.
Average fuel consumption is 23km/l, what I think is a bit too much for 4 stroke 250. But on the other hand I ride daily only in city centre and when I go on an open road I go at about 70 mph.
I have original top box (48l) so I have really enaugh of space. I once rode with laptop, VCR and LCD projector in both luggage compartments and some space left.
The tyres I have are Michelin Gold Standard which lasted for 12.000km. From time to time you need to screw the wing mirrors.
The engine is powerful enough, but for long rides on a highway it needs to be 400-500cc.

I really am in dilemma which bike to choose next. Scooter has it's advantage for riding in the city, more confortable, luggage, but 500cc scooter costs as much as some 600cc motorcycles. I think I am too young not to try a motorcycle because until now I owned only scooters (50cc, 125cc, now 250cc).

    Oh no, no, no... I got a Yamaha TDM 900 ;)
    To my review I can add I sold it with 16.000 miles on the clock. Apart that coolant leak I mentioned in the review no problems at all. I did a nice trip from Ljubljana to Budapest, that's some 330 miles in one day, with two up, no probles at all, only on motorway was a bit boring so I stayed of it. I sure can only recomend that scoot.
