General Comments

Got my Anics skif A-3000 for a clearance price from Cheaper Than Dirt.com.

Should have been suspicious when I got the gun and the plastic case nearly fell apart. Should have been even more suspicious when I noticed the bright orange plug sticking out of the barrel.

Don't expect great fit and finish here folks, you ain't gonna get it from the Russian bin. The guns functions but the bluing (or is it paint?) is hardly even and burrs are plenty.

Plan on spending your first half hour wiping off the grease and goop that comes from the factory.

Also, check the co2 seal out before popping one in! My seal was dry as a bone and I lost a cartridge to an improper seal. A little silicone did the trick but I'll have to replace that seal soon.

Shooting is okay although the trigger pull in DA can be something of a bear. Trigger feels like it had grit and when I checked, it did!

Accuracy is okay but nothing to cheer about.

If you go to the range, be prepared for some chuckles from the guys as they see that orange plug sticking out from the barrel.

For the orange plug, can't you just paint it or remove it or are you really stuck with it?

Most do paint over it but it then technically becomes an illegal air pistol. When I questioned a local ATF agent as to why this gun required an orange plug he couldn't figure it out. The orange plug is supposed to be reserved for non-lethal plastic pellet firing air guns, not a gun that can fire lead pellets and bbs. He later theorized that the company did it because some localities require the orange band even on lead firing air guns. Go figure. Same guy told me it is a federal offense to paint over the orange safety plug on any air gun that may have it already installed. I think it would be safe to say they won't be hunting you down anytime soon for such a triviality, but you can never tell!
