Good Points
Sound quality
Amazing ability to keep out external noise
None of the down sides of noise reducing phones (buffeting from wind, and interference from mobile phones etc.)
You don't look like yet another iPod fashion victim when wearing them
Bad Points
They are a bit fiddly to set up, but worth the effort
General Comments
I wanted headphones I could use on my train journey to work, and the active noise reducing type suffered from lots of buffeting in the summer when people had the windows open. I saw a review for the Shure E2c headphones and bought a pair.
Whilst being fiddly to get used to, they are amazing. No batteries, just great ability to keep the noise out. I found the foam covers best, as they did not cause the weird ear pressure thing that I found with the silicon ones.
The sound quality is terrific - as good as the Beyer Dynamic over ear phones I have, including the bass. It is also true that you do hear details that were simply not there before.
