Good Points

Amazing performance with classic styling. A real drivers car that makes you do some of the work too!
Smooth six cylinder thanks to the Lucas MkII mechanical fuel injection.
Spacious for a two seater sportscar and well appointed (for it's age).
A very enjoyable convertable with lots of character.
Good handling.
Cheap and abundant parts supplies.
Strong engine and brakes.
Smooth overdrive.

Bad Points

Roof leaks! (C'mon, it's an old Triumph!)
Bit noisy, but perhaps that's a plus point...
Things always shaking themselves loose such as door handles and hood frame.
Rusty if not looked after properly and not treated with protective products.
original fuel pump?? Some say so, had no problems with mine.

General Comments

An absolute classic that can be used everyday if maintained properly. I owned my Triumph TR 6 for 10 years and had to sell it as I moved up a mountain in Spain!! If driven well will still outperform modern hot hatches such as the 8 valve Golf GTI. Sixty coming up in a shade over 8 seconds with a top speed of about 120mph which seems faster as you are so near to the road...I loved it, what can I say, I'm a bit biased but does not deserve the bad press it gets RE the fuel injection system, which, if left alone will function happily for many years. My car had notched up well over 100,000 miles when I sold it albeit restored and well maintained. If you're considering buying one spend a bit more than you really want as it'll probably have all the engine mods such as the oil cooler and the independent rear suspension kit which is really very good! If driven below 3,000 RPM on a long run it will return at least 25-27 to the gallon which I think is pretty good for such an old car.
