Good Points

Simply the best low light 1 CCD camcorder for the money. Better than some 3 CCD models.
Best features are low light lamp, easy button and small size.

Bad Points

The supplied battery isn't great, and replacements are expensive, but I think that's true of most cameras today.
The zoom is very fast, and the button very small for my big hands, but I got used to it after a while. I had a JVC before which had a large zoom switch and slower zoom, so I had to retrain myself.

General Comments

I still can't rave enough about the Sony DCR-HC90 digital camera's low light performance. I had a JVC before, which was good in daylight but lost focus and its steady cam function when I used it indoors, which was a bit annoying when filming a party etc., when the light was poor. Also it had a light in the front which would announce my presence to all when I tried to film. The Sony has no light to blind your 'victims', but still easily films and keeps focus/steady cam. It has an infrared lamp build in for night filming which gives you a greenish filming, but unlike other cameras I have had, it doesn't just increase the exposure and produce a jerky effect. You get a smooth night vision film.

Another thing it has is an 'easy' button which auto sets everything. Really great when my girlfriend uses it. I don't have to worry about her missing my greatest moments!
