The Gizmondo games console is outstanding. Sorry to those slaves to fashion out there, but this whips the PSP as a multimedia device, and doesn't suffer from being tied into bespoke hardware/memory requirements (UMD-Memory Stick). Graphics, sound and sheer power is way ahead (and this company doesn't stick root-kit software on your PC).
Hold the device after the cheap plastic experience of PSP and immediately you know that this has been designed by one of the worlds top industrial designers. It feels robust and comfortable.
It should be able to fly as a gaming machine, but is let down by a poor games catalogue (I'd actually rate my Nintendo DS ahead of this as an all in experience), but then I bought this primarily as a multimedia device and Sat Nav solution, and at the price there's nothing on the market to beat it at that game.
If they can get to grips with GPS based gaming then this (and Giz WS) could be true gaming icons.
