I learnt to shoot with my HW35, so I find its weight perfect for my style. I like the fact it has a safety catch.
Heavy weight will cause shooters of newer rifles a problem. Noisy spring action will deter prey.
Considering it was first sold in Germany in the 1930s (apparently the Hitler Youth used them) and hasn't been updated very much to this day, the Weihrauch HW35 is a surprisingly good, strong, reliable rifle. Its styling and weight might put off younger buyers, but I find it easier to train on target than a lighter gun.
