He overcame everything, even though he was messed up inside, and it showed real courage and bravery.

I had a panic attack whilst reading the part about when he had his stomach 'accidentally' slashed open!

I'm 14, and I have just started reading 'A Man Named Dave' by Dave Pelzer. 'A Child Called It' was so sad and upsetting, but it just showed how strong a little boy can be! I was so proud at how he kept going, even though his mother was beating and abusing him every day, and even starving him of food!
