Articles and features for cat lovers - beautiful photos.
Sometimes aimed towards breeders rather than pet owners.
"Britain's best loved cat magazine for 22 years". This is the statement that appears on the top of the front cover of CAT WORLD.
This is specifically a magazine for cat lovers featuring articles on breeding, cat care and health matters. There are also other regular features such as "Cat Chat" with news items, "Paw Post" which covers reader's letters.
"Cats on the Couch" is another regular feature, dealing with problem pets, in which reader's letters are answered by Peter Neville. He is a pet behaviourist, who in 1990 established a behaviour referral clinic at the Department of Veterinary Medicine in Bristol.
More queries are dealt with in "Ask the Experts"; the experts in question being Richard Allport, Alison Logan and Gill Furniss, who are all qualified veterinary surgeons; also Janet Green and Penny Bydlinski, who are both show judges. Richard Allport has a further regular column on Natural Health, specialising in homoeopathy and alternative therapies.
The magazine usually highlights one breed each month, describing breed standards, colours, and temperament etc., and of course showing the cats by way of plenty of lovely photographs.
Cat World is favoured by cat breeders, as not only has it been established for over twenty years, but it also has quite a large section at the back containing the Breeder's Directory, Stud directory, kittens for sale, show dates, and a comprehensive shopping directory.
However, there is plenty to interest the ordinary cat owner with stories, competitions and freebies, not to mention "Pet Pawtraits" which is especially for photos of reader's cats and is sponsored by Kitzyme.
It is a glossy magazine which naturally includes many beautiful photographs both by amateurs and professionals. All in all, it is a magazine that would interest anyone with a love of cats.
CAT WORLD is published monthly - on sale the second Thursday in the month.
I look forward to reading this regularly, and I hope you will too.
