General Comments

I have been a member with AXA PPP Health Insurance for something like 15 years, and until this year I found them to be a good Company to deal with. This year, after complaining about the increase in premium, they suggested it would be more economical to split my family (husband, wife, 3 kids) policy into two, and I fell for it. After making a claim for grommets for a child that would have been previously been covered, they rejected this.

I am going to make a complaint about their door to door salesmen. Unfortunately I was in the bath when one called at MY door last evening, and talked to my son. He managed to talk him into handing over bank details and sign a direct debit mandate, whilst telling him they had a special offer for that day only, denying that it was in fact a direct debit he had signed. In fact the Axa person would not leave MY property until he had the details he wanted. Had I answered the door, it would have been closed immediately. I explained to my son that all he was interested in was being paid for "selling" a policy, and when asked, he did admit that he was paid for each signature he obtained. Furthermore, when I asked what he was selling (when I did come downstairs), he said he wasn't selling anything. So I pushed it and finally he said yes he was selling. Naive people like my son can easily get conned, I would have just told him to get lost!!! The two of them were actually arguing over a bank account number at one point, and I couldn't believe how unprofessional this person was. My motto is, if I want it, I'll approach them, if they're so desperate they have to send morons round knocking on doors, then I'm not interested in the slightest.
