When The Pawn is Fiona Apple's amazing follow up album to her debut Tidal, and she, again, doesn't disappoint.

Reflecting on a troubled life with songs like "Paperbag" and "Get Gone", Apple makes an extraordinarily honest record that details intimate feelings and betrayals that she has experienced. Using extended metaphors, Apple has a mastery of the English language which can't fail to evoke emotion in even the coldest of hearts. One of the many beauties of this album is that whilst each song is a documentation of Apple's life, it is so easily relevant to your own.

An A+ album for any music lover.
