I have tried to change my phillips 30005 dvd player to region free but unfortunately can't do it! Tried gerry's advice but when i press enter in 'preferences' settings, nothing happens. How do you type the numbers in to get 1,3,5,5,6,6?

Tried Gerry's advice again, and now I have changed my dvd player to region free. Thanks Gerry!

It is only region 2 so you can unlock it into a multi region player by doing the following:

    - Press "System Menu" key to enter Set Up menu.
    - Move to "Preference Page" using arrow keys to the left or to the right.
    - Press the following sequence in the remote control: 135566
    - A menu indicating "Region Code" will appear.
    - Change region using arrow keys to top or down. Region Code = 0 will play all regions.
    - Press "System Menu" key to exit Set Up menu.

hope this helps (had same problem this week so sorry for late comment).

    Hi,
I can't actually get to the preference setting, it skips right past it. Any help greatly appreciated as I have a whole heap of US DVD's I can't play!
