The engine was pretty smooth.
The power of the engine wasnt great for a 1.8, bad handling and cornering, very dull and a little unreliable
Had this Vauxhall Astra 1.8 SRi mk2 car for a short time because i just didn't like the thing, power output was a little disappointing when an xr3i has just 4 bhp less out of a 1.6, and is just as quick if not a bit quicker. Handling was the major dissapointment, after i drove a mates XR there was no comparrison. It was a little unreliable, in the mornings i didn't know if it was going to start, sometimes it didn't and sometimes it only just.Rust was also taking over, both wheel arches were flakey as well as the outer skin of the door. I dont want to start a ford/vauxhall debate but i just feel the Xr3i is just a little bit more polished especially in the handling department.
