Just got back from stay at Santa Fe hotel, some good and bad points to hotel.
Food, firstly told to book our breakfast time when checking in we chose 8.15 as the park opened for 9 for customers staying in disneys hotels, thought it would be fairly quiet but got there and the queue was going out the door, we finally got in after a long wait and when we had chosen what we wanted there was nowhere to even sit, so we had to wait for a table to become free.
Food standard was good though with a wide choice including pastries, hams, cereals, cheese and yoghurts and free hot drinks.
Meals in the evening were overly priced with not much of a selection and again a huge queue to get in, we only went there the first night and qued for about 30mins!
Reccommend going to walts restaurant inside the park, they take bookings up until 7.30, so when you come out at 10ish the park is empty, great oppurtunity for good pics!
The rooms in the hotel were of good standard with comfy beds, all rooms had 2 double beds in, got a telly and a kettle also, but no cups or anything for the kettle so bring some if you want a hot drink, plus no tea bags etc!
Also another downpoint to the rooms was no safe in them, which was annoying as we brought cameras and didnt want to leave them in the room.
Bar in the hotel was nice but drinks were so overpriced for a pint of beer it was over 5 euros, this is throughout the whole park as well.
Staff at the hotel were brilliant, so friendly and fluent in every language, really puts us English to shame! Very helpful when checking in to the hotel also.
Not much of a variety of food in the park either with burgers and chips everywhere you went, but ok for just a few days stay. And also expensive, with nowhere to sit.
Park itself is brilliant with amazing rides! Best ones to go on are star tours, thunder mountain, Pirates, Peter Pans flight and the teacups!
Overall holiday was brill but really do recommend eating in the park and not the hotel, you will get a better meal and an assigned seat, went to planet hollywood which is in the other park Walt Disneys land which is the special effects one and that was the best meal we had!
Also watched the evening parade which was magical!
And when sitting outside to eat lunch it started snowing! Truly a magical holiday, xmas is the best time to go but its also the busiest, but it you dont mind lots of queues then go.!
Also....When rides say an hour wait it is normally more like 20mins!
